Life can get busy. Unless we have our meals all planned and prepped for the week keeping up healthy nutritional eating habits can go straight out the window. How many times have you found yourself saying “lets just order Uber Eats” or walking out of Pilates at 8.15pm then having peanut butter on toast! Or like me I am terrible at getting myself lunch organised, hello #mumlife! Well enter Soulara. Plant based food delivered to your door. Recently I was gifted a delicious delivery to try. As I was thoroughly impressed and loved the meals I wanted to share my thoughts and experience with you.
I first discovered Soulara only a couple of months ago when I was looking for healthy nutritious meals to be delivered to my mum. My Mum was going through chemo treatment and healthy meals delivered seemed like a convenient option for her. Anyway cutting it short we decided not to go ahead as she was concerned about her taste and if she would feel like eating. The name Soulara always stayed in the back of mind for if I ever had a really busy week at home and needed meals. So as you see I was beyond thrilled when I was contacted by Soulara for some meals!
If you have not heard about Soulara they are plant powered nutritional meals delivered to your door. Meals are nutritionally planned by chefs and nutritionists packed full of superfoods and plant protein. The vision and food ethos behind Soulara is definately well worth reading, they aren’t just another meal delivery service! Plant based food that does not disappoint.
How does it work?
So easy all you have to do is select a plan which suits your requirements. Starting at $103.50 for 9 meals. Ordering every single week is not necessary, you cancel or pause your subscription at any time. You select what meals you would like. But note there is a deadline as meals are all shipped fresh 5-6 days are needed to get meals planned and made.
Once you order is placed and then made it is conveniently delivered to your door. Email and text messages kept me notified of when my delivery would arrive. Even if you aren’t home to receive your delivery it is packed so well with cool packs.
Plant based food? Vegan? Gluten Free?
First off let me say I am not vegetarian/vegan. In saying that I would quite happily not eat meat again. Since having kids I have become less interested in eating meat. Perhaps thats comes from both my pregnancies I was put off touching and eating it! I was a actually blown away by how filling all the meals were. It has also definitely opened my mind to trying new things like tofu!
All Soulara meals contain plant based protein like quinoa, hemp seeds, beans, nuts, chia seeds and more. Easily digestible, majority are free of common allergens like dairy and gluten. Please note though some meals do still contain gluten. But all Solaura meals are 100% plant based and vegan!
One other thing I love is when you are ordering your meals a full ingredient list is included, along with health benefits and nutritional table.
What did I order?
It was no easy task deciding what to order. Everything sounds so delicious. I chose the nine different items below
- Genie’s Magic Pudding
- Sunbliss Granola Bowl
- Goji Power Balls
- Dawn Discovery Satay
- Voyager’s Coconut Lentil Soup
- Roje Maiden’s Soba
- Moroccan Chickpea Medley
- Ludic Spicey Buddha
- Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts with Tofu
Now I cant pick a favourite or least favourite because they were all so good. Each meal was so flavoursome and I was left with a full stomach. Probably the most densest and one meal I couldn’t finish was Roje Maiden’s Soba. Definitely a good one for the big eaters! The one meal I was thinking I would not like was Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts with Tofu. Hence not being the biggest fan of tofu, Soulara you have converted me to liking tofu! And for the people whom aren’t fond of lentils Voyager’s Coconut Lentil Soup was oh so yum! It was the perfect meal for after a late evening pilates session.
The Verdict
In my personal opinion hands down the best, not just plant based food but meal delivery service. Soulara suits my lifestyle and beliefs when it comes to what I want to eat. Do not let the words plant based put you off as these meals, as I previously mentioned are filling and so full of flavour. I have previously tried other fresh meal deliveries and even ones where you cook yourself, I would order Soulara again and again. All it takes is two minute in the microwave and your meal is ready to eat. Some meals can even be frozen, just not your salad type meals! Even my husband was commenting on how good the meals were!
If you are looking for a week of no cooking or up your lifestyle health game, make the switch to plant-based for a week then definitely try out Soulara
