Recently we purchased the Valco Baby Snap Duo Tailor-made in grey. I have had numerous questions about the pram so today on the blog I thought I would answer those questions of you. First things first I LOVE it!
How the decision of a double pram came about
Once I fell pregnant with Scarlett I started to question will we need a double pram? Should we sell our Stokke Xplory? At one stage I had decided we were going to sell our Stokke Xplory and splurge on this double I really, really wanted. I am so glad I changed my mind. I had a Hug-a-Bub baby wrap I barely used with Aria. So a few weeks before Scarlett was born I decided I would baby wear the new baby and Aria can stay in the pram when we went for our daily walks. Our daily walks went a little like that till Scarlett reached 8 months old and I was over it! Plus I was always taking the cushion insert in/out and adjusting the straps of the Stokke depending which child I had in there.
I began searching allover Instagram at what other mums of two or more were using. The requirements I wanted a double that was still visually appealing, practical, reasonably priced and side by side. Personally I don’t like double prams where one child is low to the ground. Thats when I stumbled upon the Valco Baby Snap Duo Tailor-made in Grey Marle. I wanted it, so I went ahead and ordered one!
Do I use both prams regularly?
Yes, I am always switching the prams over. I use the Snap Duo for our daily walks (my exercise), the long walks to a park/gardens, if we go walking to pick up some groceries/run errands and occasionally for trips to the zoo. If we are going to a shopping centre, event or cafe I never take the Valco Baby Snap Duo just the Stokke for Scarlett. Aria is at an age where she will happily walk at the shopping centre by my side and sit reasonably still at a cafe.
Why do I love the Valco Baby Snap Duo
Lets start with the fact that I love the colour, the grey! I have had numerous people comment when I am out walking with it. Plus the fact I can still hold a coffee in one hand and push the pram with the other hand, winning!! Yes it is that easy to steer and rides easy over bumps.
It folds up like a breeze, actually so much easier than the Stokke! I find it easy to lift in and out of the car (around 9.8kg), has a carry strap, we can store it upright in our house and it just fits through our front door! The under basket is great, I can easily fill it up with groceries with no issues.
Aria aged three fits easily in her seat with plenty of room and can comfortably fall asleep. The seats recline to any position you like. With all the little features like adjustable footrest, storage pockets, air vents, a little window to check on them, fully extendable hoods and easy to use brake. Can you see why I had to have it!
Aria always taking her arms out! Both bars clip in and out
Is there anything about the Valco Baby Snap Duo I don’t like?
The only thing I find with the Snap Duo is the padding covers on the straps can come off pretty easy. Twice Aria has just about lost one on me! Recently I decided to take hers off for now. She tends to climb in and out of the pram particularly when we are at a park and especially the Zoo. Also there isn’t any cushioning or support around the baby especially if they are only few months old. I’m not sure if you could put a cushion lining/insert thing in for support?
