It is hard to believe how fast time flies by! Our littlest babe Scarlett Chloe turns one tomorrow July 24th! What better way to celebrate then with a cake smash!
One moment she is just this tiny sweet newborn, to now she is one overly cute determined little lady trying to get the hang of walking
To kick start off her First Birthday celebrations we had a little Cake Smash at home for her. Something like this is so easy to create and you don’t have to spend a lot of money to put it all together.
I honestly am not as organised as I was with Aria’s First Birthday! I had everything all planned out weeks in advance from the theme to her outfit to all the decorations. For Scarlett I literally headed out to K-mart yesterday afternoon to pick up some decorations for the cake smash ha!
Below I have listed how I put our look together, plus a few tips for your own DIY cake smash
CAKE SMASH DECORATIONS
All paper decorations I purchased from K-mart, to shop click Here
The helium balloons I purchased from a small gift shop

CAKE SMASH TIPS
1. Choose the most light filled room in your house. Along with that try to plan the cake smash on a day there will be plenty of sunlight. And select a time the light hits best in that area 2. For flooring a white sheet fabric or plastic will give a similar effect. These are actually floorboards I use for flatlay photography 3. Have someone to assist you 4. Your cake doesn’t have to absolutely perfect they are only going to destroy it! 5. Embrace the mess! I hate food mess but in this occasion the more mess the better 6. Don’t forget to photograph the small things like their hands and feet 7. Outfit personally I think less is more
